Beschrijving: This book comprises a reconstructi-on of a lost kata. Founders of two budo sports, Jigoro Kano (judo) and Ginchin Funakoshi (karatedo) worked together in a really unique project, called GO NO KATA. How could it have happened that this crossborder kata has not been given the attention that we are used to with other katas? With this book the author makes the first move. A best buy for every budoka, who wants to look further into the subject.Jan Muilwijk, 6th dan judo and 2nd dan karatedo, is a descendant of a true budo family. Born in 1957, both his father Teun and mother Jenny were black-belt holders, very special at that time.Raised in a family with father Teun, 7th dan, mother Jenny, 2nd dan, brother Wim and sisters Corrie and Addeke, 3rd dan, brother Jaap, 2nd dan and sister Marina, 1st kyu and the brother-in-law Ad, 4th dan and sister-in-law Els, 2nd dan, followed by the third generation, cousins Akkie, 3rd dan, Robin, 2nd dan, Boy, 1th dan and up till now daughter Anouk, 2nd dan, he considers himself an exponent of a generation, that grew up with it. And these are only the judo grades, for if we are going to mention other budo sports, there will be numbers of dan grades from 1 to 6 and we need to mention brother-in-law Rini and cousin Eric too. Mentioning the kyu-grades would carry us too far.In Dordrecht, together with his brother Wim, he manages the Sportschool Muilwijk, established in 1948, supported by a great number of family members.Apart from his work behind the scenes, his activities consist mainly of leading many judo classes every week. He enjoys working with a team that is so well settled down. It looks like if it will stay that way for the time being.
